    Definitely appreciate the support!

Helping a client set up their teen's profile was turning into a bit of a hassle. I couldn't confirm the intake appointment since everything was under the dad's name, not the teen's. I tried contacting the parents a couple of times by phone and email, but no luck there. Just when I was getting frustrated, the Headway Team stepped in. They reached out to the parents themselves and sorted out the profile issue. Thanks to their help, I finally got the intake documentation done. It was such a relief to have them assist and make sure everything was sorted out. Definitely appreciate the support!

    Suspicious Billing / Time Suck

I’ve had multiple frustrating and concerning experiences with Headway’s billing system, and I no longer trust them with my payment information. I have a $0 co-pay for all therapy sessions. A couple of months into using Headway, they said that my insurance plan coverage had changed and that they would now be charging me a $10 co-pay for each visit. I called my insurance and they said there had been no change in my plan or coverage and that therapy still had a $0 co-pay. This lead to a whole back and forth with Headway to get them to reimburse me and stop charging. How did they come up with my plan changing? How long were they going to charge me $10 per apt if I hadn't gone back and forth with them about it? How many other people have they done this with who didn't have the time or energy to go back and forth with them? Most recently, they ran a series of unauthorized $1 test charges on my card without notifying me or logging them in my billing history. This included a $1 charge, an immediate refund, and then another $1 charge, all unannounced. My credit card flagged the activity as suspicious and advised me to block the merchant because this is a common strategy scammers often use before making larger charges. After that, Headway removed my valid payment method and is now requiring me to add a new one, even though I have a $0 copay and a clean payment history with them, in order to see my provider tomorrow. They never notified me or listed the "test charges" in my billing history.... Between the lack of transparency, unauthorized test charges, and previous overbilling, I don’t feel they’re responsible enough to handle patient billing. If you're a provider thinking about using Headway, or a patient whose provider works through them, be prepared for billing issues, poor communication, and unnecessary stress. All of the back and forth and phone calls over these issues has created a completely unnecessary time suck and I don't expect that to change any time soon.

    You won't believe what happened

You won't believe what happened with our counseling sessions. We were just starting to make progress with Christopher Baumann, and suddenly, out of the blue, he canceled everything. No direct message, no heads-up—just vanished. Apparently, he sent an email, but we never saw it. I had to reach out to Headway myself to get any answers. Christopher claimed he wasn't doing couples counseling anymore, but his profile on other sites still says he does. Feels like we were left hanging without a proper explanation. Now, we're stuck looking for someone new just when we were getting comfortable with him. Honestly, it's really frustrating and makes me question how Headway handles their clients and providers.

Switching over to Headway was actually pretty simple, which was a relief. I've got this amazing therapist now, and she's just incredible. She's super patient and really listens, making each session feel like chatting with a friend who just happens to be a pro at this stuff. It's like she just gets it, you know? Every time we talk, I feel like I'm in good hands, and it’s comforting knowing I can trust her advice. I didn't expect to find someone who clicks so well with me, but here we are. It’s been a game changer for me, really.

    Switching to a new provider

Switching to a new provider felt like diving into the unknown. I was a bit anxious about how it would go, but turns out, I had nothing to worry about. My provider is absolutely amazing. She's super thorough, and I can tell she's putting in effort beyond just our sessions. It's comforting to know she's genuinely invested in my progress. The journey has its ups and downs, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed sometimes, but it’s all part of the process. If you’re considering getting help, I can’t recommend Headway enough. My practitioner has been a great support, and it’s made all the difference. Don’t hesitate to give it a shot if you’re on the fence!

    Finding a therapist felt like

Finding a therapist felt like it might be a hassle, but it turned out to be pretty straightforward. The process of matching with someone who really got me was smooth sailing. Once I connected with my therapist, we clicked right away. Building a relationship was almost effortless, and I felt comfortable opening up. The support I've received has been top-notch—professional, sure, but also really responsive. It's like they're always there when I need them, which is a huge relief. Having someone who listens and actually cares about my progress has made all the difference. This experience has been a real game-changer for me, and I’m grateful for the support.

Navigating Headway's customer service is like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces. I had a billing issue and contacting a real person felt nearly impossible. It's frustrating when you're just trying to sort things out and keep hitting walls. If your therapist uses Headway for billing, I'd advise you to reconsider. The company's approach seems to be all about delay and deflect, rather than genuinely resolving issues. I usually prefer working out issues directly and love leaving positive feedback when deserved, but Headway's service was disappointing. After months of back and forth with no resolution, I felt compelled to share my experience. It's disheartening to see such poor service, especially when customer care should be a priority.

    I joined this company thinking

I joined this company thinking it would be a great opportunity, but it turned into a nightmare. At first, everything seemed fine, but then they gave me wrong info as a provider. This mistake meant I got paid two weeks late, and they wouldn’t even fix it. I reached out for help, but they just brushed me off, acting like it was my fault. I ended up filing complaints with the BBB and labor department because nobody was listening. It feels like a pyramid scheme, more about getting others to join than actually helping us succeed. They lack real support or worthwhile resources, leaving you to fend for yourself. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

    I had a frustrating experience

I had a frustrating experience with Headway that left me feeling pretty upset. They charged me multiple times for the same session, even though my insurance had already covered it. When I reached out for help, they gave me different stories and didn't seem interested in resolving the issue. It felt like they were trying to squeeze extra money out of me, and it was really stressful. What made it worse was that I was relying on their services during a difficult time, and instead of support, I got a headache. Trust is so important in mental health services, and I felt completely let down. If you're considering using Headway, think twice. It's not worth the hassle and stress, especially when you're already dealing with enough.

    Frustrating experience

I recently had a frustrating experience with Headway that left me feeling deceived and out of pocket. When their system for verifying insurance benefits went down, they assured clients that they wouldn't charge any cancellation fees. But guess what? I ended up with a $2,900 bill for cancellations due to their own technical mishap. It just feels wrong and unethical. I stuck to my end, attending scheduled appointments and only canceling when Headway's system failed. Yet, they still charged me. It's like they promised one thing and did the opposite. If you're using Headway, please keep an eye on your billing and consider reaching out to relevant authorities if you face similar issues. This kind of practice shouldn't go unnoticed.

I had a pretty frustrating experience with Headway. Before booking my appointments, I sent all my insurance details and even got confirmation from both Headway and my provider that my coverage was good to go. So, I went ahead with my appointments, thinking I'd just pay the usual copays. Fast forward over two months, and I get hit with a bill for more than $300 because Headway messed up my insurance verification. I've been emailing back and forth, and all they say is that their team will contact my insurance. Plus, they've got my debit card info saved, and you can't remove it. They charge you randomly, despite initial promises. I'd steer clear of them.

But then, out of the blue, they just rejected it without any explanation. I tried calling them so many times, hoping to sort things out, but it was like talking to a wall. There was one instance where they even had my insurer on the call with me, and still, no resolution. It's like nobody there knows what they're doing. The customer service is practically nonexistent. I really enjoy working with

I really enjoy working with my therapist; she's genuinely amazing. But the hassle with Headway has been exhausting. Since December, it’s been a constant battle over charges—sometimes they're inconsistent, sometimes they're just plain wrong. And the response? Slow and unhelpful. Every time I explained the issue, I got shuffled around to different representatives, none of whom seemed able to actually resolve anything. I've shown proof, talked with my insurance, and was even promised a refund for overcharges, but after three weeks, nothing. Insurance tried reaching out, but apparently, there's no direct line to their finance team. It's frustrating and expensive with little accountability or problem solving. I really can't recommend them after all this mess.

    I used Headway to find

I used Headway to find mental health support, but it was a rough ride. It’s got some troubling issues that make me wonder if it’s worth it. Confidentiality seems like a distant concept there. I've heard they peek into private therapy notes and appointment reasons, all without asking. They even use AI to sift through sensitive stuff for their own purposes. Transparency is missing—providers don’t know how their notes are used. Some even faced retaliation for speaking up, like getting locked out or having their professional reputation hurt. They’ve reportedly snooped into financial info without consent, which is just unsettling. They promise support and compliance, but the reality feels off. For anyone considering this platform, think twice about how it handles privacy and data.

    It feels like a scam

I've been dealing with Headway for a while now, since my partner's therapist uses them for billing. Therapy sessions were smooth sailing, paying our usual co-pay without a hitch. But recently, things went south. We began receiving bills for the entire session cost, not just the co-pay. Checked with our insurance; nothing changed, and the therapist remains in-network. Trying to resolve this was frustrating—no phone number, only their online ticket system. We submitted a ticket, and they eventually acknowledged the co-pay error but offered no refund. Weeks later, more full-price bills appeared for three sessions. Another ticket opened, they're "investigating," but my hopes are low. We're owed around $700 and considering a bank chargeback. Honestly, steer clear of Headway; it feels like a scam.

    I began therapy through Headway

I began therapy through Headway in March 2025, thinking everything was sorted with my insurance. But after five sessions, I found out I was actually out-of-network since January, which was pretty surprising. I had checked with my insurance twice before diving into therapy, so you can imagine the shock when I got the bill. Headway admitted the mistake but didn’t refund the extra payments I made. It’s frustrating when your therapy gets tangled up in billing issues, especially when you’ve done your homework. And without live support, sorting things out becomes even harder. If you're using Headway, double-check everything—even if you think you're in the clear—because insurance stuff can change without you knowing. It was a rough experience for me.

Using Headway was a frustrating experience, especially with insurance involved. They charged me wrong multiple times and promised a refund, but nothing came through. When I tried to sort it out, they said they wouldn't file with insurance until insurance told them to, which was just confusing and felt off. It's been months and they're still holding onto my money, making me wonder if they're just trying to scam people. If you're thinking about using them, especially with insurance, I'd be really careful. The whole thing felt like a mess and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through it. It took them forever to sort it out, and they even charged me for a session that should have been covered. Now I'm stuck waiting to see when I'll get my money back. I've been with Headway since last October, and everything seemed fine until now. Suddenly, six months in, they're billing me for two sessions because, apparently, they messed up filing the claims on time. It's frustrating because I should not have to pay for their mistake. I feel they should be the ones sorting this out with UMR, not me. Their support team hasn’t been helpful at all; responses are vague and seem like they’re trying to dodge responsibility. Dealing with this company is like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces. They promise the world but fall short, especially when it comes to credentialing, which is supposed to be their bread and butter. It's a constant uphill battle—missteps in applications, poor communication, and unhelpful responses. You end up doing their work, like you're part of their team without the paycheck. It's beyond frustrating. If there were other affordable choices for credentialing, I'd jump ship in a heartbeat. But as a private practitioner, the options aren't exactly overflowing unless you're swimming in cash. It feels more like battling bureaucracy than getting actual help. They're just not up to par, unfortunately.

Okay, so here's the deal with Headway: they've totally streamlined how I deal with insurance and copays. I mean, billing used to be such a headache, but now they just handle it all. Plus, the way they manage communications? It's like they're reading my mind! And can we talk about their paperwork and personal policies? It's like they knew I wanted to go paperless and made it super easy. My office feels less cluttered, and I spend way less time on admin stuff. It's like they've taken a load off my shoulders, and I can actually focus on the important things now. I’m seriously impressed with how much smoother everything runs thanks to them.

So frustrating! I signed up with Headway for therapy sessions, and right off the bat, they asked for my credit card info and charged me $117 per session, even though my insurance only requires a $20 copay. I thought I'd get refunded the overcharge, but it’s been over two months, and Headway still hasn’t submitted any of my claims. I tried reaching out multiple times, but they don’t have a call center—you can only submit online tickets. Each time, I get a different excuse: wrong insurance company, wrong state, needing permission from my insurance (which wasn’t true). My therapist even tried to help, but no luck. It feels like they have no reason to fix this since they've already overcharged me by nearly $300.

Whenever there's an issue, they respond quickly and fix it. Honestly, if they offered referrals, I'd probably ditch all the other platforms and stick with this one. Using Headway has been a game-changer for my practice. The support for compliant documentation is a massive help, making everything run smoother. However, I do find it frustrating that some CPT codes, like E/M codes, aren't usable outside regular hours and holidays. It means missing out on some income, which isn't ideal. But, on the bright side, not having to handle the admin tasks is a big relief. Balancing the pros and cons, the ease of documentation and reduced admin workload makes it worth it.
