A Useful Social Platform for Everyday Use

I have been using Facebook regularly to stay in touch with friends, follow community groups, and keep up with local updates. The app is convenient and has plenty of useful features, although the number of ads and recommended posts can sometimes make the feed feel crowded. It has been useful for staying connected.

My personal take

I’ve been using Facebook for a long time for connecting with people, following communities, and sharing content. There are many features available, and it’s easy to find what you need once you get used to the platform. The main thing I like is how active the community is and how quickly content can reach people.

It’s still useful, and the experience could be more consistent.

My Review on facebook

Cross-device logins are effortless, and connecting with neighborhood groups makes finding local events super easy. Navigating the settings takes a little effort, but the payoff is well worth it.

Difficult to sign in with another device

Opened a Facebook account about 2 years back, I got almost a thousand friends within a short period of time which I never expected, but that was cool. Then I relocated to another campus cuz of school and had to let go of the sim I used to sign in to FB since it wasn't working here. Since then I've found it hard to log in anymore even after doing welcome back for the sim and trying alternative log in options with my email. I really need my account back, I believe there are other security options asides the number I used for the app initially. I'd be so glad if this is sorted out, thanks

Handy for group updates, mixed on the feed, reel

I’ve used Facebook for many years mainly to stay in touch with family groups and local event pages watch reel etc. Posting photos and checking comments works reliably, and the Groups feature keeps discussions organized. The main drawback is the crowded news feed that fills with suggested content and ads, so I often have to scroll past a lot to find posts from people I actually follow.

Why maltreating African Content Creators

Facebook is definitely a great platform, especially for we Nigerians. We enjoy using Facebook a lot and spend the most time scrolling and creating contents on Facebook, but has Facebook been fear to we African creations? Definitely not, they will recommend you for mobilization, only just to pay you cents for millions of views at the end of every months. It's so unfair and this actually needs to improve, X does better for their creators.

Great reach, messy feed

I feel connected yet distracted. Reels hijack attention, and friends’ posts get buried. Still useful for Marketplace and events.

Marketplace paid my rent

Sold a sofa in a day and found a babysitter through a moms group. Ads can be loud, so I prune follows often.

Groups keep me local

Signing in is easy across devices. I joined neighborhood Groups and found events fast. Settings take a minute to tame, but worth it.

Nightmare

I haven’t had trouble with the stapes yet but ordered wrong covers ordered replacements and have been trying to return wrong ones. Pictures sent twice. They keep offering me 15% etc instead of a clean easy return. Will never buy more. Sad. They could have had a good thing for a long time.

Facebook was already bad before Meta

Facebook was already bad before Meta, but it's now even worse since Meta took over. For every post you actually want to see, there's about 5 spam ads or full-blown scams. From shady businesses, scams involving prostitution, to questionable companies from far away, this is what Meta's smart management has given us.

The decision to get rid of fact-checkers because “facts are biased” is ridiculous, and it will likely turn into a hub for extremists and wild theories. Still decent for staying connected with loved ones, but I’m not sure if dealing with all the nonsense will make it worth sticking around. Moving on. Bluesky.

The platform has many fake profiles and scammers who try to get money and personal images from people, which is really disappointing. I don’t feel good about using it.

Facebook is the biggest f****** mess

Facebook is the biggest f****** mess I’ve ever witnessed in my life. They never bother to fix anything. The girl by The Summers has f****** over 2,000 f****** accounts, same person, same pic. I guess she’s f****** the owner!!! What a horrrible situation.

The company's platform is known for restricting

The company's platform is known for restricting and blocking content that exposes the harsh realities faced by Palestinians under Israeli control. Over the past 11 months, nearly 90,000 Palestinians have died, many of whom were children, due to the actions of the Israeli forces. Despite this, my 15-year-old account was suspended while misleading information from certain groups continues unchecked.
