Make sure to carefully review all the details in the fine print before making a purchase, especially if your tickets are on the pricier side. My partner and I bought tickets, but unfortunately, we couldn't attend due to a positive COVID test. It was disappointing that the company wouldn't accept an at-home positive test and insisted on a doctor's note. Fortunately, our situation didn't require urgent medical attention, but obtaining a note on a Saturday afternoon would have cost us a substantial amount. The reimbursement of only $90 for tickets worth hundreds seemed inadequate. Moreover, the insistence on a doctor's note raised concerns about unnecessary exposure to other patients and healthcare workers. Admittedly, I overlooked the fine print, a mistake I own up to. In hindsight, I regret not checking reviews before making the purchase. Had I done so, I might have reconsidered buying from this company. Despite feeling unwell, I could have sold my e-tickets on the day of the event, avoiding the hassle and disappointment.

When signing up for a marathon, the option to purchase insurance was presented to cover unforeseen circumstances before or on race day. Recently, I sustained an injury during my training for the marathon. Upon informing the company through their website, they requested documentation from a doctor or physician to process a refund. The challenge lies in the fact that my injury doesn't necessitate a doctor's visit and may take a couple of weeks to recover. However, once healed, I won't be adequately prepared for the marathon due to a lack of training, posing a risk of re-injury. While acknowledging my own oversight in planning, it seems reasonable to expect a refund given the injury. The requirement to obtain a doctor's note adds an additional financial burden, raising concerns about the company's approach. This policy may give the impression of a profit-driven organization, making it appear as though they are more focused on retaining funds than accommodating genuine issues, even with valid proof.

    Had an absolutely awful experience

Had an absolutely awful experience with the insurance plan for a family trip to Six Flags. We purchased the insurance to protect against unpredictable weather, but when we learned about bad and rainy weather, Six Flags informed us that, due to the insurance, we couldn't change our tickets or get a refund; we had to go through the insurance process. After opening a claim, the response we received stated that coverage only applied if severe weather conditions made it impossible for us to attend the event. However, this definition didn't include scenarios like heavy snowfall, ice on roads, or abnormally heavy rain unless authorities closed roads. Essentially, unless roads were closed, we were forced to attend the event despite having purchased insurance, leaving us at a full loss. We could have easily changed the dates, but because of the insurance, our plans were disrupted.

    We bought tickets to see

We bought tickets to see our friend's band in Toronto, which is about 100 km away from us. The weather had been awful all week, with Environment Canada issuing advisories, and on the day of the event, they warned about hazardous road conditions. So, we decided to stay home for safety. I had bought ticket insurance, expecting it would cover situations like this. But when I tried to claim a refund, they made me jump through endless hoops. They asked for documentation, road closure proof, and other impossible-to-get details. Their "unexpected weather" clause seems like a joke. Honestly, don’t waste your money on their insurance. If you can't make it, sell your tickets or give them away. This company will find any excuse not to refund you. Lesson learned, read reviews first and be cautious.

    I was planning a fun

I was planning a fun day at Six Flags with my kiddos and bought tickets online. Noticed this purchase protection thing from FanShield and thought, "Hey, why not?" Just in case something goes sideways. But, whoops! I accidentally booked for today instead of tomorrow. Tried contacting Six Flags, they told me to deal with FanShield. Called them, and they asked me to email support. When I tried to submit a claim, turns out they only refund for really serious stuff, like weather disasters or, you know, death. I picked scheduling conflict, got denied real quick. Emailed them, explaining I'm a single mom just trying to give my kids a good time. Feels like they're just looking to make a quick buck off people like me. Not cool.

    Went to the Ohio Renaissance

Went to the Ohio Renaissance Fair, but had to cancel last minute due to a work emergency on the West Coast. Thought the ticket insurance would help, but boy was I wrong. I provided my flight receipts and even a letter from my CEO, yet they kept badgering me with more questions about my job. I felt like I was being interrogated! Their refund process is a nightmare. They wanted all sorts of documentation for every possible reason. Sick? Get a doctor's note. Car trouble? Show the repair bill. It felt like they were trying to wear me down so I’d give up. Got my refund, but the whole experience left a bad taste. Not worth the hassle. D- for the process, could be an F for their deceptive practices. Never again.

    I got event insurance thinking

I got event insurance thinking it'd save me stress if things went south. But when my car’s alternator blew just over a day before the event, I was stuck. I fix my car myself since no shop around will touch it, and I was ready to show them the receipt for the alternator or any other proof they wanted. Still, they shot down my claim, saying I lacked the “proper documentation.” No matter how much I explained, they wouldn’t budge. It’s like they’ve set it all up to just grab your cash and run. Seriously, steer clear of Fanshield. If you’re hoping they’ll have your back in a crisis, forget it—they’ll just wriggle out of it. It’s frustrating how companies pretend to help but only look out for themselves.

This company was a real headache

You know, dealing with this company was a real headache. I shelled out good money thinking I'd have some peace of mind, but turns out, their protection terms and refund process are just a mess. It's really unclear what you're actually getting and when I tried to get my money back for tickets and meal plans, it was a nightmare. I mean, I spent almost half my paycheck on this, expecting some kind of security, but instead, it feels like they're just holding onto my money. It's frustrating to see a business more focused on keeping cash than on helping their customers. Honestly, if you're considering using them, I'd think twice. There are better options out there that actually care about their clients.

    It’s not worth the hassle

I tried using FanShield for event insurance, and honestly, it was a headache. I bought their coverage when signing up for a race. Unfortunately, I got injured and needed a minor surgery. I was determined to still participate, but my recovery took longer than expected. Withdrawing was my only option, so I reached out to FanShield for a refund. I thought it'd be straightforward since my situation fit their criteria, but nope, they denied my claim. When I appealed, they asked for an absurd amount of paperwork. It would’ve taken forever to gather it all, and for what? Just $80? Honestly, it wasn't worth my time. If you're thinking about using FanShield, think twice. It’s not worth the hassle.

    I can't believe how terrible

I can't believe how terrible this FanShield insurance turned out to be. I got my daughter a ticket for a half marathon in San Diego and thought it would be smart to get the $15 insurance, just in case. Well, her track coach said she couldn’t run because she had other team commitments. I thought, no worries, it's insured. The ticket cost me $175. But when I asked FanShield for a refund, they denied me because I didn’t have documentation proving she couldn’t go! Her coach said she couldn't attend, how am I supposed to document that? So, I wasted $15 on this useless insurance. FanShield is a total scam. Their customer service is rude and unhelpful. Avoid FanShield; it’s a waste of money!

I made a mistake by not researching the company before buying extra protection for my concert tickets, which promised coverage for illnesses. My partner and I caught the flu, with all the nasty symptoms, and couldn't make it to a concert two hours away. So, I thought getting a refund would be straightforward. Nope! They told us we needed a doctor's note proving we were too sick to attend. Seriously? Who's going to the ER on a weekend just for that? It wasn't mentioned when I bought it. This company's a joke. Avoid their extra insurance at all costs. They make you jump through hoops, and you’ll probably spend more proving your illness than on the tickets themselves. What a hassle!

    I had a frustrating experience

I had a frustrating experience with this organization. They're not really helping the healthcare system like they should. A lot of talk nowadays is about reducing paperwork for doctors so they can spend more time with patients, but this place just doesn't get it. It’s so disappointing to see them add more to the already heavy workload of physicians with unnecessary sick notes and forms. Many governments and other organizations are trying hard to solve this problem, but this company seems out of touch. For the sake of our doctors who should be focusing on patient care, I would recommend steering clear of this organization. It's just adding more stress to healthcare professionals.

We thought we were set for a fun weekend at Six Flags in San Antonio for my sister’s 19th birthday, but things went downhill fast. We bought tickets ahead of time, even got the insurance, thinking we were covered. But, it rained non-stop, and there was a flood watch in effect. We didn’t feel safe going on the rides, but when we tried to get a refund, it was a nightmare. They asked for official weather warnings from the government, which was just ridiculous. It’s frustrating how quick they are to take your money but drag their feet on refunds. We’re still waiting and it’s been days. This experience left us so disappointed and definitely wary of buying tickets in advance again.

    Mess of an experience

Man, let me tell you about this mess of an experience. Back in September 2024, I missed an event five hours away due to traffic jams. I thought a traffic report would be enough, but they insisted on some mystery document that I can't figure out. I sent them all sorts of papers already! Then, just recently, I couldn't make it to a baseball game because work called me in late. I'm a federal employee, so I sent them the work notice and the purchase receipt. Seats weren't used or scanned, but they keep asking for more proof. We shelled out over $1700 and had insurance, but it's been endless emails with no real help. This business is just a nightmare, needs serious looking into.

I tried using FanShield for a refund on my S.F. Giants tickets, and it was a mess. A friend in our group got really sick and couldn't go, so I followed all the steps for a refund. They gave me a case number and promised someone would reach out in three days. Well, days went by, and nothing. Tried calling, but kept getting their automated system. Emailed again, got a different case number, and the same promise. Still no response. They even said I could cancel my protection, but when I tried, they said it was expired, even though the game hadn't happened yet. Luckily, the Giants were awesome and gave me a refund directly. Seems others had the same issue with FanShield, too.

I bought tickets to Six Flags Magic Mountain a week ago, but had to cancel last minute because of high winds and wildfires in the area. The National Weather Service issued a warning for potential evacuations, so I sent FanShield proof of this to get a refund. Despite the clear danger, they said my evidence wasn't good enough. I mean, who would risk going to a theme park during such a threat? It’s absurd. I couldn't believe how dismissive they were about the whole thing. It's like they only care about pocketing your money rather than keeping people safe. Honestly, what's the point of insurance if they won't help in situations like this? Avoid using FanShield at all costs.

After my family dealt with a big surgery, we sent all the necessary documents and explained our situation in detail, hoping for some support. But guess what? They denied our refund request because we supposedly missed the "90 day timeframe." It’s almost like they forgot that recovery isn't the same for everyone, right? I bought some ticket protection

I bought some ticket protection from Fanshield since the weather was acting up. Sadly, one of our group, a kid, got sick and couldn’t make it. I sent Fanshield a screenshot of a text from the parent explaining the situation, thinking it would be enough. But they insisted on medical records to approve the claim. This wasn’t what I expected based on their ads, which seemed pretty straightforward. It’s super frustrating to feel misled like this. You think you're covered, but then there’s all these hoops to jump through. Not cool, especially when you're dealing with a kid's health situation. My friend woke up with a horrible migraine, and she’s dealt with these for years. She knows the drill: rest, hydrate, take meds, and ride it out. There’s not much else she can do. I tried to get a refund from the company, but they insisted on a doctor’s note proving she went to the doctor today. Seriously? She already knows how to handle her migraines; going to the neurologist every single time is just not practical. She'd be there 4-5 times a month, wasting time and money. Plus, she lives an hour and a half away from the stadium. Driving with a migraine is not safe. FanShield denied my refund request because she didn't see the doctor. So frustrating.

You won’t believe the hassle I’m going through just to get a refund for a cabana rental at Dorney Park. Scheduled for last Saturday, we couldn't make it because my partner had to be hospitalized. Now, here’s the kicker—they’re asking for proof of the hospital visit to process the refund. Isn’t that crossing some privacy line, like the HIPAA Law or something? I mean, I get they need to verify, but isn’t there a simpler way to handle these situations? Bought event ticket insurance thinking I'd be covered if bad weather hit. They advertised "100% refund" for such situations, seemed like a good deal. When bad weather did strike, the event was canceled for safety, I thought I was set. But getting the refund was a nightmare. They asked for tons of documentation, and when I provided it, they claimed my refund was void because the event was canceled. Isn't that exactly what the insurance was for? I submitted a claim that I’m sure will be rejected. It's really wrong to ask customers to send highly private documents to get a refund for a service they can't use anymore. What’s with this corporate greed? When I opted for the extra ticket insurance, there was no clear info on what was needed to get a refund until after I paid. The fact that a $250 refund seems to be a big deal for this company is ridiculous. Once more, it shows corporate greed. No company should impose these kinds of terms on customers, because life happens! I would suggest avoiding this service and just accepting the loss as it’s not worth it. Such a horrible practice.
