Wenn man einen günstigen Kurs bucht (z.B. für 0,99 EUR), dann wird einem beim Kauf ein "kostenloses" Abo (Domestika Plus) untergejubelt. Nach 30 Tagen wird dann das Jahren-Abo in Höhe von ca. 125 EUR abgebucht. Das Geld sieht man dann nie wieder. Wer versucht einen Refund zu bekommen, wird sehr schnell enttäuscht. Die Betrüger haben bereits eine Support-Seite gebaut, auf der klar erklärt wird, das es keine Rückzahlungen gibt.

BEWARE!! If you buy any individual course, Domestika will charge you an annual fee after 30 days!!! Like many others Domestika subscribers, I've been charged an annual subscription without my consent or knowledge. Tried contacting support to get my refund and received a "too bad" automatic reply. People are being scammed in the hundreds by Domestika! Just look up this facebook page by other subscribers to get the details or check their social media profiles. I'm sorry for the creators that share their work in goodwill, but Domestika is scamming its customers. Stay away from those grifters!

Avoid buying from this company.

Avoid buying from this company. They don’t clearly state that your $6.99 course is part of a trial subscription, and no email highlights the post-trial cost (AU $150) in the subject line. You have to dig through promotional messages to find the fine print. Like most people, I don’t check emails unless the subject line is important. Now I’m asking for a refund and just get an automatic reply that helps nothing. Many complaints on here, Facebook, and elsewhere show others face the same problem. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOMESTIKA

Not worthy of a single star

Please do not trust these guys - they have taken my membership payment and despite saying on the website that they offer a refund - will not. I have begged them to refund because of an oversight - I was ill and was not accessing my email - I cannot afford the payment, however they do not give a damn and will not refund. Despite taking my payment, there has been no welcome email, no reciept, no correspondence at all - they are nothing but scammers who hope you will accidentally forget to cancel your trial and give up.

Scam, was rolled into yearly membership without signing it for it!

Very bad experience, I bought a course and they somehow automatically added to it yearly subscription that I never wanted and was not visible while placing the order. Then there is no contact no option to cancel and get money back even tho I never use it. SCAM

Ik hou van Domestika voor het leren van kunst. De betaalbare cursussen en zoveel geweldige professionals op het platform. Ik ben nog steeds bezig met mijn project, maar deze cursus is geweldig! Het is echt fantastisch. Het is een ontspannen manier om je schetsboek te vullen met botanische tekeningen en mooie composities, de cursus is erg inspirerend. Ik hoop dat het me helpt om consistent mijn schetsboek te gebruiken, hoewel ik de cursus nam omdat ik wilde leren botanische dingen te schilderen met acrylverf. Ik vond het heel leuk en heb veel geleerd.

Elke instructeur heeft hun eigen speciale technieken en benadering van de onderwerpen, en ik hou ervan hoe Domestika alles presenteert in een leuke gemengde afspeellijst die je echt betrokken houdt. Ik hoop echt dat ze blijven komen met meer geweldige cursussen over onderwerpen zoals charcoal, aquarel, gouache, en andere media in deze zelfde stijl!

I've been using this website for a while now. I bought some great courses from really talented artists. Recently, I had a subscription hiccup, but it got sorted out. Now, the website is clear about the subscription—it's right under the pay button. This hiccup won't stop me from using the website. It's full of great courses from brilliant artists and craftsmen.

Ha tudnék, nem adnék egy csillagot sem. Teljes átverés. Vettem egy 99p-s tanfolyamot, és úgy belerángattak egy éves tagságba, hogy lehetetlen volt lemondani, így automatikusan levonták, és én azonnal mondtam, hogy nem kérem, ez hiba volt. Azt mondták, mindegy, nem érdekel minket, viszlát. Nincs fogyasztóvédelmi törvény, mert az USA-ban/dél-Amerikában van bejegyezve. Csak átverés az egész.

Domestika took CAD$130 for Domestika Plus with no prior notice. They say you can get a refund within 14 days of the renewal, but that's not accurate. The "refund" button is not there. I've been trying to contact them for 2 weeks with no luck. I’ve messaged on social media, emailed, filled out their form, and called their main office... all I get are unhelpful bot replies. Honestly, I doubt I'll get my money back. It seems like they just took it and that's that.

Een oplichterij! Ik had eerder in de afgelopen jaren een paar goedkopere cursussen gekocht zonder problemen, maar toen ik deze januari een cursus kocht, bleek dat ik zonder het te weten voor een abonnement was ingeschreven. Ik heb NIET ingestemd met dit abonnement en was me totaal niet bewust van wat er gebeurde totdat ik £142 van mijn rekening zag afgeschreven. Hun 'geen restituties'-beleid is echt verschrikkelijk, duidelijk ingesteld om te proberen geen geld terug te geven aan mensen zoals ik, die helemaal niet ingestemd hebben met het opzetten van een abonnement. Gewone oplichters. Mijd het koste wat het kost!

Deceptive company practices and lacking customer support. They billed my card for an annual package without proper consent even though I canceled the "plus" trial, and it was confirmed as canceled. Still, I was charged later. Their support only sends generic replies, offering no real help. Feels like a skam.

Oplichterij met het Plus-abonnement. Ik werd al belast voor het volledige jaar, niet-terugvorderbare lidmaatschap, nog voor de 30 dagen voorbij waren. Ik wilde gewoon een paar cursussen kopen met korting. Niemand beantwoordt mijn berichten, behalve een automatische reactie van een bot.

Gebruik deze bedrijf niet. Ik heb een paar cursussen gekocht in het verleden zonder problemen, maar dit jaar 2025 hebben ze me op de een of andere manier misleid en begonnen ze bijna 300,-USD extra te rekenen. Ik weet niet waar de valstrik zat. Ik zou nooit meer automatisch verlengen!

Company doesn't properly notify before charging for yearly sub. Claimed they sent 3 emails for free trial (not got) & automatically charged when no response ($97.00). Won't cancel or refund. Heard they did same to others, even friend.

Domestika is running a scam

Be very careful with the company Domestika! They use false advertising. I signed up for a spoon carving course taught by @a.ndrea_cortes for $1.99 USD, only to find they charged me an extra $108.86 USD without my permission. For this amount of money I could have done an in person spoon carving course. This company does not respond to you except with bots. They are however able to limit disgruntled customers sharing their experiences on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter/X), to prevent them warning prospective customers about their deceitful practices. I have been unsuccessful in getting my money back from my bank and PayPal. I don’t believe Domestika is abiding by Australian Consumer Laws & has taken the funds illegally. I have reported this matter to Australian Federal Police and SCAMWatch (who share information with the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission). The spoon carving community is very small and I will be sharing my experience about this company on every internet platform that I can (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, Google review etc), because I do believe this company has used fraudulent tactics to advertise their courses. Tens of thousands of customers been scammed by Domestika Inc. Please do your due diligence and never deal with them (give your bank details), otherwise you will be scammed too! If you have been scammed please sign the Change Org petition called ‘Domestika Estafadores’ (with 12+ K signatures and counting), to help get a class action off the ground. Sorry I can't post the email address here!

Domestika is misleading thousands of users with a sneaky subscription model that becomes nearly impossible to cancel once invoiced. They operate in the murky (sewer-like) waters of legality, and it reeks. After filing a claim with PayPal, I managed to get a refund. PayPal acknowledged that while Domestika's practices might be technically legal—due to some small, vague print indicating a subscription—the way they present it is deliberately misleading. There's no clear opt-in, no obvious button indicating you're about to be charged for a recurring plan. It's deceptive by design. The fact that Domestika refuses to issue refunds after payment further proves their intention to trap users. It’s unethical and disgraceful. PayPal stated that the refund was granted as a gesture of goodwill. I’m deeply disappointed that Domestika is still allowed to operate with such predatory practices. I will continue to raise awareness and file complaints until they’re held accountable—or run out of customers.

Upon doing a thorough research, I must conclude, I feel like I have been scammed.

Upon signing up for a 1 mnth course there seemed to have been a mandatory 1year plus trial I could not opt out of. While I had every intention to cancel it. I had issues doing so when I tried to a few days before it expired. I was eventually able to login an d cancel the subscription however it had already charged my PayPal account $109.99. While I understand they are trying to make money off persons with this program. I believe the choice should be optional. I should not be forced to complete courses on your platform because you refuse to provide me with a refund which was requested as soon as the service was cancelled. I have not used the plus service yet I am being told I cannot be refunded. In all my years of ordering services online, this is very new to me. ' Now I know what to look out for in the future and will not allow this t happen again. I will also do my best to educate as many persons as possible regarding this most traumatizing situation.

Blijf weg van Domestika – Ze zijn een oplichterij! Domestika is echt een oplichterij. Ze adverteren met een "gratis proefperiode" om toegang te krijgen tot hun cursussen, maar zodra je je aanmeldt, rekenen ze je voor een volledig jaar zonder enige waarschuwing. De cursussen zijn ook waardeloos. De meeste zijn niet eens in het Engels. Sommige zijn nagesynchroniseerd, maar veel van het materiaal op het scherm, zoals in UI/UX-cursussen, is nog steeds in andere talen. Hoe moet je hier nou van leren? Toen ik om een terugbetaling vroeg, kwamen ze met een belachelijk excuus, waarbij ze zeiden dat ik een "herhaalklant" was, wat absoluut niet waar is. In plaats van het probleem op te lossen, ontweken ze gewoon hun verantwoordelijkheid. Domestika is niet te vertrouwen. Ze pakken je creditcardgegevens, rekenen onterecht kosten en laten je vastzitten met cursussen die je niet eens kunt gebruiken. Laat je niet misleiden – blijf ver weg!

Contacting customer support is virtually impossible. If you manage to get through, you’ll receive an automated response citing their strict no-refund policy. This issue is so widespread that their email begins with, “Regarding your request, if you are writing to us because you have received a charge that you do not recognize...” After that, you will not receive any further communication from customer support—ever. This is a predatory practice that preys on unsuspecting customers. Avoid this company at all costs. If I could rate it 0 stars, I would.
